Intralink Japan wins British Business of the Year Award, named as Best Corporate Innovator in 2009

Tokyo, Japan — Intralink KK, the Japan entity of Intralink Limited, was announced as winner of the British Business of the Year Award (Japan 2009) in the Best Corporate Innovator category. The award is sponsored each year by the British Chamber of Commerce in Japan (BCCJ) and recognises the company that has most creatively used innovation, whether in products or in services, to achieve success in Japan. Receiving the award from HM Ambassador to Japan, David Warren, at a black tie gala dinner held at the prestigious ANA InterContinental Hotel in Tokyo on 26th November, Intralink KK President Steve Shipley said, “this award is a testimony to the success of our Surrogate Sales Program™, which has provided the vehicle for many British companies to develop thriving businesses in Japan. Together with our many clients in the electronics, telecommunications, healthcare, automotive and other sectors, we are delighted to have been recognised in this way.”

In citing their reasons for selecting Intralink, the judges said, “Intralink is BCCJ corporate innovator for 2009 because it has succeeded in Japan as a result of its dynamic and innovative business model that has enabled British companies to enter and flourish in the Japanese market. The judges felt that Intralink's business exemplifies corporate innovation in its ability to adapt a range of pre- and post-market entry services, including opportunity assessments, partner selection and liaison office services, to British companies seeking entry into Japan. The judges were also impressed by how Intralink has made a business that speaks to the aims of the BCCJ by fostering business links between Britain and Japan.”
