NTT DATA Launch Summer 2016 Contest

NTT DATA, a top 10 global IT services provider, has announced that it is now accepting applications for the fourth Open Innovation Contest. 

The contest is centred on 12 business themes and designed to foster the creation of ‘triple win’ business scenarios between start-ups, NTT DATA and its customers. NTT DATA is offering the winners:

- Extensive exposure across the NTT DATA Group

- A 3-month period of business development supported by a team of business consultants, with a view to running a proof of concept and then commercialising the technology in the Japanese market.

- The consideration of equity investment.

Many of Intralink’s clients are start-ups with technology and solutions that would be eligible to enter the Open Innovation Contest. Intralink has been working with NTT DATA for twelve months in order to identify leading global startups that have a strong fit with the business of NTT DATA, and its customers in the banking and financial industries.
 
The contest themes are:

1. New technologies that can add advanced functionality to NTT DATA’s new 'IoT Cloud’ platform.

2. Next generation solutions around NTT DATA's CAFIS card payment processing network/solution that can enhance the lives of consumers.

3. Proposals relating to the use of NTT DATA's 'MarkLogic Server' platform that was built to enable business service creation from diverse, multifarious and unstructured data sources.

4. Solutions related to omnichannel customer support for the insurance business. (Next generation customer touchpoint).

5. Creation of new banking services utilizing instant messaging.

6. Proposals for collaboration around NTT DATA’s Banking Operations software platform BeSTA:

- Marketing services

- Services targeted at banks’ markets divisions or risk management divisions

- Services aimed at the next generation branch

7. Provision of new banking services to millennials and young people using smart devices

8. New service concepts targeted at the electric power industry

9. Proposals for utilizing the mechanisms to prevent erroneous money transfers (furikomi) by pre-checking the beneficiary name in advance.

10. Creating new and exciting shopping experiences.

11. Proposal for utilizing NTT DATA’s  IoT platform to increase the competitiveness of manufacturing processes.

12. Any other outstanding and relevant new technology or innovation.

The deadline for applications is 4th July and the contest will take place 30th August in Tokyo.
