NTT DATA searches for Western Innovation

Tokyo, Japan - November 25th - 2015 NTT DATA, a top 10 global IT services provider, has announced it has opened up its third Open Innovation Contest to applications from outside Japan. Intralink is working with NTT Data on its Overseas Open Innovation Programme, of which these contests form a key part. Deadline for applications is December 18th 2015.

The contest is centered on 10 business themes, and is designed to foster the creation of new and innovative ‘win-win’ business scenarios between start-ups, NTT DATA and its customers. To the winners, NTT DATA is offering extensive exposure across the NTT Group, and a 3-month period of business discussions, with a view to running a proof of concept, and then commercialising the technology in the Japanese market. Equity investment will also be considered.

Contest Themes*

  • New technologies that can add advanced functionality to NTT Data's new 'IoT Cloud’ platform
  • Next generation solutions that can enhance the lives of users of CAFIS (Credit And Finance Information Switching), NTT Data’s card payment processing network/solution
  • Proposals relating to the use of NTT Data’s 'MarkLogic Server' platform that was built to enable business service creation from diverse, multifarious and unstructured data sources
  • New products or services using sensor data generated from IoT sources, targeted at enhancing services offered by insurance companies
  • Collaboration for services capturing ‘new banking transaction styles’ such as those utilising smartphones or other new technologies
  • Proposals for collaboration around NTT DATA’s banking operations software platform BeSTA, including: Marketing services, services targeted at banks’ markets divisions or risk management divisions, services aimed at the next generation local branch
  • Solutions that can add functionality to the 'CONTIMIXE Cloud’ tablet-based field sales/CRM solution for the banking industry
  • Collaboration to create new services concepts targeted at the electric power industry
  • Proposals for new services leveraging highly accurate indoor positioning data
  • Any other outstanding and relevant new technology or innovation 

The deadline for applications is December 18th, with the actual contest day to be held on February 12th 2016 in Tokyo. NTT DATA will cover return flights and a 2-night stay in Japan for one person per company, should your application be accepted.
