Intralink paves the way for QuickLogic success in Japan

Silicon Valley, USA — Intralink America, the leading provider of business development services to American technology companies targeting markets in North-East Asia, has completed the final stage of its work for QuickLogic Corporation (NASDAQ: QUIK) by transitioning sales development activities from its Tokyo office to Quicklogic’s own operation in Japan. This marks the end of a successful four-year engagement during which time Quicklogic has secured new supply contracts with customers in Japan.

QuickLogic Corporation, the innovator in low-power Customer Specific Standard Products (CSSPs) for mobile devices, has most recently been selected by Kyocera Corporation, Inc. to supply its smart connectivity CSSP Solution for the company’s HoneyBee® 5 series of Personal HandyPhone (PHS) phones. Kyocera already utilizes QuickLogic’s Visual Enhancement Engine (VEE) and Display Power Optimizer (DPO) technologies on one smartphone model to extend battery life while enriching the viewing experience in all lighting conditions.

QuickLogic joined forces with Intralink in December 2008 as a way of establishing a local presence in the Japan – something critical to succeeding in that market – and utilized Intralink’s Surrogate Sales Program™ to help build a sustainable, long-term business. As part of the scaling process, Intralink assisted in the seamless transition to QuickLogic’s own, independent operation.

Brian Faith, Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing at QuickLogic said, “Our initial aim was to establish a long-term, yet flexible presence in Japan. We understood from the outset that the sales cycle for our product is relatively long and there is a need to evangelize both vertically and horizontally within our target customers. Intralink’s Surrogate Progam™ provided the ideal solution and their team was technically savvy and commercially focused. They have been instrumental to our success with Kyocera and our many other relationships in Japan”.

Huw Thomas, MD of Intralink's Japan operation, said, “We have greatly enjoyed working with the entire QuickLogic team. They have been a model client to work with due to their commitment to quality and rapid turnaround of technical and commercial questions. We wish them continued success in the future.”
