Novasentis, developer of the world’s thinnest EMP actuator, appoints Intralink in Japan

Santa Clara, CA — Asia market access specialist Intralink has been chosen by newly re-branded Novasentis, Inc. (formerly Strategic Polymer Sciences, Inc.), to help drive the development of its business in Japan. Novasentis, which has U.S. offices in California and Pennsylvania, has identified Japan as a key market and is establishing a physical presence in Tokyo through Intralink’s Surrogate Sales Program™.

Intralink will use its extensive experience working with Japanese OEMs and its high level contacts to provide Novasentis with a springboard into one of its key target regions, East Asia. The partnership will help Novasentis seize on the substantial market opportunity within Japan and to partner with Japan’s global brands exporting products to the rest of the world.

Electro-Mechanical Polymer is a flexible, plastic film that deforms under digital control, enabling the world’s thinnest haptic actuator. The Novasentis revolutionary EMP technology allows devices to come alive with co-located vibrations, movement, morphing and sound. Through its actuators, Novasentis is enabling a new generation of ultra thin, ultra flexible and ultra light devices that bring new sensory and emotional experiences to users.

Novasentis President and CEO, Christophe Ramstein, commented, “This is an exciting development and represents a major step in Novasentis’ growth as a business. We recognize that a local presence in Asia is critical to demonstrating our commitment to our key customers. We were impressed by Intralink’s existing contacts within our target prospects and their relevant knowledge of our technology field.”

Huw Thomas, Intralink’s Managing Director in Japan added: “Japan’s OEMs are hungry for new and innovative technologies to give their products a competitive edge over their global rivals in the mobile computing and communications space. The Japanese have long excelled at integrating high performance functionality in ever-slimmer form factors and Novasentis’ technology allows them to leverage their expertise”.
