California adopts our new Asia Export Acceleration Program

The California Governor’s Office of Business & Economic Development (GO-Biz) has taken up our new Asia Export Acceleration Program.

Designed to help companies to expand their international footprint, our new service provides direct, on-the-ground commercial execution in high-growth Asian markets.

Expansion in Asian markets presents significant opportunities for exporters, but they typically face considerable hurdles including time zones, language, business culture and unfamiliar distribution channels.

Through the 10-week initiative for GO-Biz, up to five Californian businesses will receive bilingual sales representation in their chosen Asian markets. Our specialists on the ground will act as their dedicated business development teams, building an active sales pipeline for each.

The program will be executed in three structured phases:

  • Commercial localization and account mapping: adapting each exporter’s sales collateral into Asian market vernacular and building a targeted list of 25 to 30 priority buyers, distributors or system integrators
  • Direct buyer qualification: engaging decision makers to evaluate commercial alignment, verify intent and gather feedback
  • Facilitated B2B meetings and handover: arranging four to six qualified pitch meetings with commercial decision makers, concluding with a report detailing meeting outcomes, contact intelligence and a sales roadmap.

Upon completion of the initiative, the businesses can either follow up the sales leads themselves or move forward with our continued support.

The Asia Export Acceleration Program is valued at $12,000 per exporter. To support business growth, each eligible Californian enterprise approved for the program by GO-Biz will receive $10,000 in State Trade Expansion Program (STEP) grant, leaving just $2,000 remaining to pay.

The GO-Biz initiative is open to Californian exporters in high-growth sectors including medtech and life sciences, ICT, cleantech, advanced manufacturing, agri-food and consumer tech.

Applications to take part will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis up until 13 November 2026. Interested exporters can find out more by contacting Sarath Menon, our Global Head of Trade, at sarath.menon@intralinkgroup.com or by visiting the GO-Biz STEP Application Portal.
