New connections in Asia for German IoT firm

We’ve been appointed by German IoT company, Perinet GmbH, to support its expansion into China and Taiwan.

Founded in 2018 as a spin-out from the HARTING Technology Group, Berlin-based Perinet’s technology connects existing factory floor sensors and machines directly to enterprise IT networks, without adding a gateway layer. Its technology is built on Single Pair Ethernet (SPE), an IEEE-standardised Ethernet physical layer that carries high-speed data over a single twisted pair, rather than the multiple pairs conventional Ethernet cabling requires. Its product design also considers upcoming obligations under the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA).

As the world’s largest manufacturing market, China’s IoT automation and retrofit demand is huge – piquing the interest of overseas firms operating in these sectors. And with Perinet already having secured a customer in neighbouring Taiwan, it was only natural for the firm to pursue further conversations in this region.

Our Shanghai and Taipei teams are on the ground shortlisting, conducting meetings and advancing discussions with potential partners in key sectors such as building automation, industry machinery and sensor manufacturing. The Perinet team have recently visited Taiwan for their first round of introductory meetings and to attend Automation Taipei 2026 – see some pictures below:

Our team will also represent the firm at the upcoming IOTE EXPO in Shenzhen, China. And they will set up a demo kit in China and Taiwan to showcase Perinet’s technology to systems integrators, OEMs and distributors interested in learning more.

Dr. -Ing. Karsten Walther, Chief Executive Officer at Perinet, said: “Factories already have the sensors and machines they need. What they don’t have is a direct, secure path from those devices to their IT systems. Perinet closes the last gap, so shop-floor data reaches enterprise systems without another gateway layer in between.

China and Taiwan are important markets for this technology, and we wanted partners who could help us move quickly in unfamiliar territory. Intralink’s cultural understanding, technical background and network in these markets made them the right choice for this step.”
