ENEOS, one of Japan's largest and oldest oil companies, appointed Intralink to – as part of ENEOS' ESG strategy overhaul – investigate the state of innovation in the European and North American microgrid market. Our task was to learn from successful microgrid deployments – and from the companies implementing them – and to outline short, mid and long-term strategic sustainability recommendations for ENEOS' management.
Over the course of sixteen weeks, our team analysed the overarching trends, the key players and the way the global supply chain works – focusing on hardware, software and new business models. We looked at successful case studies acros the UK, Germany, Denmark, California and New York, and contextualised them against local policies, regulations and pricing practices. We also listed 25 startups for ENEOS to collaborate with.
ENEOS' representative said: "Despite the microgrid market's immaturity, Intralink exceeded our expectations with their in-depth research. I was particularly impressed by the team's professionalism and their ability to communicate with us in Japanese."
