NextG-Com is expert cellular protocol stack technology development company specialising in embedded wireless communication solutions based on LTE/3G/2G 3GPP, Satellite and M2M standards.
NextG-Com wanted to target IoT SoC companies in China and Taiwan which would be interested in licensing protocol stack source code from NextG-Com. Intralink assessed the SoC design markets in China and Taiwan focusing on companies working in the IoT and LTE modem space.
Targeted companies included HiSilicon, Spreadtrum, RDA, Mediatek, VeriSilicon, Xinwei, VIA Telecom, Realtek, Nufront, Rockchip and Sercomm. The key was a disciplined process to understand the needs and roadmaps and, based on key criteria, reduce to a short list of the most interesting prospective customers.
Intralink quickly secured two licensing deals initially worth around $300k. We also helped NextG-Com secure a partnership with Verisilicon, the leading SoC design service company in China. Due in large part to the traction in Asia, NextG-Com went on to be acquired by Arm in 2017.
