Intralink delivers UltraSoC, HiSilicon license deal in China

Intralink Limited, the leading provider of business development services in Asia, has brought together UltraSoc, the Cambridge, UK-based developer of system-on-chip (SoC) debug tools, with Shenzhen-based HiSilicon in a deal which will see UltraSoC license its intellectual property for system monitoring, analysis and optimisation solutions. HiSilicon – formerly the ASICs design centre of Huawei – is a leading chipset solution provider for telecom networks, wireless terminals and digital media.

The SoC market is growing rapidly to meet the global demand for power-efficient electrical devices, but as chips and their accompanying software become more complex, it has become increasingly difficult to monitor and control their operation using traditional means. UltraSoC’s advanced monitoring and analytics features solve this problem by removing hard-to-spot bugs, increasing quality and de-risking the entire development process.

Intralink Director of China Operations, Sol Bergen-Bartel, said: “We are delighted to have concluded this deal for UltraSoC. HiSilicon is one of China’s leading chipset suppliers and this agreement is a ‘win-win’ for both companies. The UltraSoC product will allow HiSilicon to analyse complex SoCs during development and understand how they operate under real-life conditions.”

Intralink, which represents UltraSoC in China, helps European and North American companies gain revenue traction in East Asia. The company covers the key East Asian markets of China, Japan, Korea and Taiwan, and has over 55 full-time employees based in the region. Founded in 1990, Intralink works across a range of technologies – including semiconductors, IoT, AI and renewable energy solutions – and has a strong track record of delivering high-value, strategic deals for its clients.

UltraSoC CEO, Rupert Baines, said: “I have been very pleased with the support from Intralink. They combine sales drive, local market insight and an ability to understand our product and present it to best effect - strikingly so, given we are very technical.  And, most importantly, they have delivered the results.”
