Chinese & Korean expansion for British ‘spatial intelligence’ innovator

We’re proud to have been appointed by SLAMcore – a UK-based pioneer of spatial intelligence for robots, autonomous machines and consumer electronics – to accelerate the firm’s expansion in China and South Korea.

SLAMcore develops industry-leading algorithms to enable robots and other machines, in an affordable way, to understand where they are and what’s around them. The company’s technology is pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with robotics – today and in the future.

Our appointment by SLAMcore follows its recent success in raising $16 million Series A funding from ROBO Global Ventures, Presidio Ventures, Amadeus Capital, Global Brain, IP Group, MMC, Octopus, Samsung Ventures, Toyota Ventures and Yamato Holdings.

With this funding behind it, SLAMcore has recognised the value of innovation in Asia, with robots on the brink of becoming mainstream and the metaverse emerging through VR, AR and mixed reality headsets.

While spatial intelligence is fundamental to delivering powerful, compelling user experiences in these fields, it’s a hard technology to crack. But SLAMcore’s solution helps designers to reduce development costs and shorten time-to-market, with wide ranging potential applications in Asia across manufacturing, transportation, medicine, logistics, agriculture, entertainment and more.

Our Shanghai and Seoul-based teams are kicking off their work with SLAMcore this week.

They’ll be developing commercial opportunities and looking to secure deals in China and Korea for our new client with prominent developers of headsets, robots and other autonomous machines.

SLAMcore’s CEO, Owen Nicholson, said: “Robots and the metaverse have huge potential to help solve many pressing real-world challenges. Spatial intelligence is fundamental to these applications, and we’re on a mission to make it accessible to as many as possible.

“Intralink gives us an important in-road to the critical Asian markets where innovators are creating next-generation products in these fields. We’re looking forward to meeting many new customers thanks to Intralink’s expertise and connections in the region.”
