Intralink rides along with Japanese children’s charity

We’re proud to have sponsored this year’s KIWL (Knights in White Lycra) Classic – a 4-day, 450-kilometre bike race to raise money for Mirai no Mori, our long-standing charity partner focused on empowering marginalised youth in Japan.

Mirai no Mori works with neglected, abused and orphaned children to provide them with essential life skills and to help them overcome developmental issues. And they believe one of the best ways to do that is through fun, collaborative, hands-on outdoor programmes, such as field trips and camps. We couldn’t agree more.

While we were unable to join the peleton for the full length of the race, our Deputy MD Richard Lyle – in his dual role as also the president of the British Chamber of Commerce in Japan – stopped by Wajima on day 2 to cheer for the 44 riders from 9 countries and to support a local Mirai no Mori community event.

In the end, despite bouts of scorching heat, rain and wind along the way, KIWL raised over JPY 17 million (or GPB 85,000+) – a life-changing amount for the less-fortunate!

We’d like to thank all our friends, clients and partners who supported the fundraiser.

And we encourage you to give Mirai no Mori a closer look – and to perhaps join us in the saddle next year!
