South Carolina appoints Intralink in China

The State of South Carolina has appointed Intralink to act as its local China office in order to strengthen its ties with the Chinese governmental and business communities.

Intralink will provide South Carolina with a physical local presence through its Shanghai office, as well as an experienced bilingual team headed up by Thomas Shiekman who will serve as Managing Director of the South Carolina China Office.

Shiekman said, “The past 10 years has seen more than half a billion dollars of investment from China, bringing over 2,500 new jobs to the State. Intralink is proud to have been selected to build on this achievement and we look forward to driving efforts to attract further investment as well as promote greater links between businesses in China and South Carolina.”

Bobby Hitt, Secretary of South Carolina's Department of Commerce, said, “We are delighted to be working in China with Intralink. They have a proven track record of economic development, linking East Asia and the United States, which will help us build upon our existing business and trade relationships. We are confident that Intralink's expertise and extensive geographical presence will enhance South Carolina's competitive position within the Chinese and broader Asian business communities.”
