Project Coordinator/Manager - International Market Expansion
Bangkok, Thailand
Are you interested in international trade and cross-border innovation?
Do you want to help global entrepreneurs bring their ideas to life with some of the largest brands in Asia?
Or maybe you’re passionate about cross-border investment and want to play a role in enabling Thai corporations to expand overseas?
If that’s yes to all three, you may be who we are looking for to join our team.
You’ll work alongside a diverse group of 180+ business development consultants with a deep specialism in Asia. Over 35 years in the business, we’ve supported over 2,000 clients including startups and scaleups, SMEs, corporates and government bodies – generating upwards of $20 billion in revenues and investment for our clients across 40+ international markets.
We’re focused on the technologies and ideas that are helping to solve the world’s social and environmental challenges.
And we’re growing our team in Bangkok. So, if you think you’re up for the challenge, read on – and apply.
What you'll be doing
You’ll be working with our international clients from both the private and public sector, with a focus on high-growth sectors such as medtech, renewables, automotive, industrial robotics, consumer electronics, semiconductors, agritech, F&B, consumer goods and others.
For your private sector clients, you’ll be the on-the-ground extension of their business development teams, with a goal of developing their routes to market and securing partners and customers in Thailand. In your day-to-day, you’ll be identifying, meeting, pitching to and gathering crucial feedback from your clients’ potential customers, distributors and partners in the market.
For some projects, you’ll be doing the important groundwork: conducting desk research and gathering market intelligence that underpins every client engagement. That means sizing the market opportunity, mapping competitors and distribution structures, screening and qualifying potential partners and customers, and checking regulatory or certification requirements – then turning your findings into clear, actionable market-entry reports.
You might also work with our government agency clients from overseas. You’ll be the on-the-ground representative of your clients' export promotion teams, supporting trade missions, delivering B2B meetings and organising trade events.
You’ll be working closely with your clients, providing them with key progress indicators in the form of meeting notes, reports, and sync calls.
And when the time is right, you will arrange for your clients to visit Thailand. You’ll be their local expert – taking them to key customer meetings, interpreting and providing the incredibly important cultural context to business conversations.
Through all this, you’ll deepen your consulting knowledge and gain first-hand experience in making international business happen.
What you'll be getting
- Competitive salary and vacation, plus flexible working arrangements
- International office environment and work culture
- Opportunities for growth and advancement within the company
- On-the-job experience across multiple industries, often working with cutting-edge tech
- A chance to sharpen your sales, consultancy, research and business development skills by learning from best-in-class consultants and business builders
- An opportunity to make a difference by enabling green transformation and digital transition through international collaboration
What you'll need
- Full professional proficiency in spoken and written English and Thai
- Minimum of four years’ experience working in sales, business development, market research, consultancy, economic development or export promotion
- Ideally, relevant experience in our B2B fields (industrial, medtech, automotive, semiconductor, energy, software, engineering, life sciences, F&B, agritech, etc.)
- Demonstrated research and analytical skills, with the ability to build evidence-based target lists, market insights and market entry recommendations
- Comfort with data sources and research tools – trade and industry databases, company registries (e.g. DBD), LinkedIn/Sales Navigator, etc.
- Strong analytical writing skills, with the ability to synthesise raw findings into structured reports, briefs and meeting notes on which your clients can act
- A firm understanding of Thai business culture and the ability to proactively guide international clients through local nuances
- The ability to quickly grasp new concepts and communicate that knowledge to stakeholders
- A keen interest in international trade and overseas business development
- A degree in business, marketing, law, engineering, science or a related field
