Client stories
Patent Owner
UK-based patent owner, BTG Plc, appointed us to manage its licensing programmes in Asia - engaging targets and concluding non-litigious commercial agreements.
We needed to cultivate personal relationships while understanding the decision making process and moving discussions forward towards agreement.
Over several years, we concluded paid-up licence agreements worth many millions of dollars with some of Japan’s best-known companies including NTT, Fujitsu, Hitachi and NEC.
IP analytics tool
IPlytics had a powerful IP analytics solution but no relationships with Asian corporations with large portfolios of Standard Essential Patents.
Using our contacts at the IP divisions of the biggest companies in Japan and Korea, we licensed its tech to leading SEP holding companies including major electronic device OEMs, global printing providers and construction equipment manufacturers.
We also led marketing activities across the region; exhibiting at the largest IP trade, running email campaigns and hosting events.
Patent services
While Korea is one of the world's top 5 patent filers, it was nowhere near the top of RWS' markets. We were hired to figure out why and turn it around.
We engaged Korean patent law firms, bid in tenders from Koreas largest tech corporations and raised RWS' profile through local marketing.
Fast-forward to today: we've doubled RWS' Korean revenues - and we're not done yet ...
