Driving China growth for Scottish photonics company

Driving China growth for Scottish photonics company

We’ve been appointed by Edinburgh-based Skylark Lasers to accelerate its move into high-growth tech markets in China.

Skylark Lasers has built a global reputation for supplying high-performance lasers to power applications in fields where precision, stability and resolution are essential. These include semiconductor manufacturing, advanced industrial processes and scientific measurement.

With demand in all these areas surging in China, and with the company buoyed by significant recent investment to support its international expansion, Skylark Lasers is poised to build on its existing relationships in the country and drive growth with the support of our Shanghai team.

We’ll be working with Skylark Lasers’ local distributors to strengthen existing sales pipelines while launching an 18-month targeted campaign to build new connections in key sectors.

We’ll take a step-by-step approach, first undertaking a detailed market research and analysis project to determine the most significant opportunities for Skylark Lasers’ technology in China.

We’ll then focus on building relationships with leading manufacturers and research institutes through a programme of exploratory meetings.

To widen opportunities for direct engagement, we’ll also manage a multi-city roadshow to showcase Skylark Lasers’ capabilities and meet potential customers face-to-face. Plus, we’ll represent the company at major industry events across China.

Christopher Madin, Skylark Lasers’ CEO, said: “Our unique laser technology can help companies in many of China’s most advanced industries provide an even higher level of service to their customers.

“Having already worked successfully with Intralink in a previous role, I know its teams deliver excellent results in complex markets.

“The Shanghai team’s detailed understanding of the way business is done in China and its strong local network will be invaluable as we scale up our operations and build a stronger commercial presence in the country. We’re looking forward to getting this work underway.”
