We are working with Invest Seoul, the South Korean capital’s investment promotion agency, to identify and engage European companies that could establish or expand their operations in the city. The initiative draws on our European network, market expertise and experience in helping international companies to enter Asian markets.
The programme focuses on European companies in high-growth sectors including AI, software, semiconductors, quantum computing, robotics, life sciences, digital healthcare, climate tech, fintech and beauty care.
Seoul is an attractive location for European companies that want to be close to major Korean customers and develop technology alongside them. The capital region, home to 26 million people with an economy of around $900 billion, hosts the headquarters of corporations including Samsung, Hyundai and SK. Nearly 10,000 companies with foreign investments are already registered there.
Our work will combine targeted company research with direct outreach through our existing network. Our European team will identify companies whose growth plans and commercial priorities align with Seoul’s strengths, assess their potential interest in establishing or expanding a presence in the city and engage them to explore concrete opportunities for investment.
Companies demonstrating a genuine interest in the Korean capital will be introduced to Invest Seoul for further discussions. We will arrange meetings, support follow-up engagements and help progress opportunities towards firm commitments.
Invest Seoul can also help prospective investors with its support programmes. Its FDI All-in-One Package, for example, offers eligible companies assistance with market entry research, incorporation-related costs, business consulting and other aspects of establishing and operating in Seoul. This will help address the practical considerations that international companies face when evaluating a new location.
For government agencies seeking to attract foreign direct investment (FDI), the challenge is not simply to generate interest in their region but to turn that interest into qualified opportunities and sustained engagement with prospective investors. The combination of our in-market expertise, established corporate networks and hands-on business development provides a practical route to achieving this.
The programme for Seoul builds on Intralink's track record in helping investment promotion agencies to build stronger international investment pipelines.
Ji-Hyung Lee, President & CEO of Invest Seoul, said:
“Seoul offers international businesses a dynamic environment in which to innovate, grow and access the wider Asian market.
“Through our work with Intralink, drawing on their global network and Korean market expertise, we will connect with European companies whose ambitions align with Seoul’s strengths and help turn their investment plans into reality.”
