Fast-growing battery tech innovator Iontra Inc has appointed us to accelerate its expansion in China, as it has ambitious growth plans following its recent Series C funding round, led by Volta Energy Technologies.

Iontra battery picUS-based Iontra has developed patented intelligent battery algorithms that enable real time sensing of battery health and optimise the charging process for lithium-ion batteries. They can quadruple battery life cycles and double charging speeds.

The technology also improves battery safety by being able to sense degradation early, reducing damage at rest and during charging, as well as enabling safer charging at low temperatures.

Jeff Granato - CEO, IontraJeff Granato, CEO of Iontra, said: “As the world’s largest battery and electronics market, China represents a major growth opportunity for us. We’re committed to the region and look forward to exponential growth as we expand across various sectors with experienced local support for our customers.

“With a 25-year track record and proven success in China, Intralink’s team in Shanghai will play a key role in accelerating our market expansion in Asia and building a long-term presence in this fast-growing, highly competitive landscape.”

China represents around 25% of Iontra’s international opportunity and is the region’s fastest growing market. It’s home to global leaders in lithium-ion battery manufacturing including ATL, CATL, Lishen, Highpower, Tenpower and BYD, as well as consumer electronics leaders such as OPPO, Vivo and Anker. Mobility innovators including Geely and GAC also represent significant opportunities.

Our team in Shanghai will deepen Iontra’s relationships with its existing customers in China, while engaging new prospects across consumer electronics, industrial electronics and micro-mobility, driving conversations forward to secure commercial deals.

As China-based chip manufacturers are also emerging as strong channel partners for Iontra, our deep semiconductor experience and contacts will help secure these important strategic partners.
