Project Manager – Medtech & Life Sciences (Vietnam)

Do you have a background in MedTech, life sciences or healthcare?

Do you want to help international MedTech and life sciences companies understand the Vietnamese market, identify commercial opportunities and build relationships with potential partners and customers?

Do you have a strong understanding of Vietnam’s healthcare sector and the network to connect with hospitals, healthcare providers, distributors and industry stakeholders?

If that’s yes to all three, you may be who we are looking for to work with our team on a contract basis.

You’ll work alongside a diverse group of 180+ business development consultants with a deep specialism in Asia. Over 35 years in the business, we’ve supported over 2,000 clients across startups and scaleups, SMEs, corporates and government bodies – generating upwards of $20 billion in revenues and investment for our clients across 40+ international markets.

We work with international companies looking to enter and grow in Asian markets, including companies across the MedTech and life sciences sectors. We’re currently looking for an experienced professional to support our work in Vietnam on a contract basis. So, if you think you’re up for the challenge, read on – and apply.

What you'll be doing

You’ll be working with our international clients from both the private and public sector, with a focus on MedTech, healthcare and life sciences.

For your private sector clients, you’ll be the on-the-ground extension of your clients’ business development team, with a goal of developing their route to market, plus securing partners and customers in Vietnam. In your day-to-day, you’ll be identifying, meeting, pitching to and gathering crucial feedback from your clients’ potential customers, distributors and partners in the market.

For some projects, you’ll be doing the groundwork: conducting the desk research and market intelligence that underpins every client engagement. That means sizing the market opportunity, mapping competitors and distribution structures, screening and qualifying potential partners and customers, and checking regulatory or certification requirements – then turning your findings into clear, client-ready market-entry reports.

You’ll be working closely with your clients and providing them with key progress indicators in the form of meeting notes, reports, and sync calls.

And when the time is right, you will arrange for your clients to visit Vietnam. You’ll be their local expert – taking them to key customer meetings, interpreting and providing the incredibly important cultural context to business conversations.

Through all this, you’ll deepen your consulting knowledge and gain first-hand experience in making international business happen.

What you'll be getting

  • Competitive contract fee, plus flexible working arrangements
  • International office environment and work culture
  • On-the-job experience working with innovative companies in the MedTech and life sciences sectors
  • A chance to sharpen your consultancy, research and business development skills
  • An opportunity to support innovative MedTech and life sciences companies in expanding into new international markets

What you'll need

  • Full professional proficiency in spoken and written English and Vietnamese
  • Minimum of four years’ experience working in MedTech, life sciences or healthcare, including in sales, business development, market research or consultancy
  • Experience engaging with hospitals, healthcare providers, distributors and/or key opinion leaders would be an advantage
  • Demonstrated research and analytical skills, with the ability to build evidence-based target lists, market insights and market-entry recommendations
  • Comfort with data sources and research tools – trade and industry statistics, company registries, industry databases
  • Strong analytical writing skills: with the ability to synthesise raw findings into structured reports, briefs and meeting notes on which your clients can act
  • A firm understanding of Vietnamese business culture and the ability to proactively guide international clients through local nuances
  • The ability to quickly grasp new concepts and communicate that knowledge to stakeholders
  • A degree in life sciences, biomedical sciences, healthcare, or a related field would be an advantage
