Intralink celebrates 25 years in Asia

Intralink Limited, the UK-based provider of Asia market expansion services to European and American companies, is celebrating its 25 anniversary. Founded in 1990 by chairman James Lawson, the company employs over 60 full-time staff in offices across seven countries.

Intralink helps western companies “go global” by developing and executing strategies for the key northeast Asian markets of China, Japan, Korea and Taiwan. The company’s signature product is the Surrogate Sales Program™, a model under which Intralink’s in-country specialists act as full “card-carrying” sales executives, allowing clients to reduce risk and secure revenues before investing in local infrastructure and resource.

Speaking to a gathering of the company’s global staff in Okinawa, western Japan, on 24 October, Lawson said, “Intralink’s core strength lies in its ability to explore the clients’ options objectively, comprehensively and transparently, and to support them at every stage of strategy execution through to deal closure.” He added, “That ability comes from our unique blend of commercial, technical and cultural talent.”

Since its founding 25 years ago, Intralink has worked with over 500 clients and remains the partner of choice for companies of all sizes seeking revenues out of Asia’s most important markets. Working across key growth sectors such as automotive, energy, healthcare and telecoms, Intralink has helped its clients secure new customers, conclude license, franchise and distribution agreements, source strategic capital, and establish local manufacturing and supply facilities. More recently, the company has started working with Asian companies role to develop the opportunities in western markets.
