We’re excited to be supporting the expansion of wireless communications pioneer Forefront RF in the rapidly growing smartwatch sectors of three of the world’s most dynamic markets: India, China and South Korea.
Cambridge-based Forefront RF has developed ground-breaking technology that offers major benefits to the makers of smartwatches and other connected devices. It unlocks the flexibility of software-defined radios (SDRs) – the next generation of wireless comms – enabling devices to be updated and reconfigured with fewer fixed frequency hardware components.
Because the technology is software-based, it’s flexible and can adapt dynamically to the available frequency bands and service requirements of different markets. This eliminates the need for manufacturers to produce multiple versions of each product. And, as it provides simple in-device tuning, it enables them to future-proof their products, enhancing their sustainability.
With demand for smartwatches and other connected devices soaring across Asia, our teams in New Delhi, Shanghai and Seoul are now implementing business development programmes to help the company tap into this major opportunity.
We’re conducting market research to identify likely customers and partners in the smartwatch sector in the three markets.
We’ll set up meetings with the most promising prospects for Forefront RF’s board directors when they visit the region later this year. And, of course, we’ll be on hand to provide guidance on meeting protocol, facilitate the discussions and provide language support.
The chance to explore opportunities with emerging device manufacturers, design houses and mobile network operators across the region is also on our radar to help Forefront RF bring its innovative technology to an even wider market.
Alexander Doust, Director of Business Development at Forefront RF, said: “Our technology streamlines the device design process by replacing rigid hardware with a flexible and tunable solution to ensure seamless compatibility across global markets. This translates into greater value for manufacturers and consumers alike.
“With Asia driving growth in mobile communications, now’s the perfect time to introduce our novel technology to potential customers and partners in India, China and South Korea.
“Intralink’s deep industry knowledge and strong networks make it an ideal partner to accelerate our expansion in these fast-moving markets.”
