Seoul, South Korea — Intralink Korea Limited, the leading provider of business development services to western technology companies entering the Korean market, announced today that AFC Energy Plc., the UK-based developer of low-cost alkaline fuel cell technology, has signed a Project Development Agreement with Korean partners Samyoung and Changshin Chemical.

Under the agreement, AFC and its partners will establish a joint venture to build a 50MW fuel cell power plant which is forecast to generate revenues of US$1bn over ten years of operation.

Adam Bond, AFC Energy Chief Executive, said: “This is a terrific deal for AFC and we are proud and privileged to be working with two of Korea’s preeminent companies on this project. On the ground Intralink Korea has provided us with invaluable support, enabling us to cut through language and cultural barriers and to facilitate commercial discussions at a local level.”

Jonathan Cleave, Director and Head of Energy at Intralink Korea, said, “South Korea is the world’s most attractive fuel cell market thanks to its ambitious renewable energy targets. Our strong understanding of the local market has been key in enabling us to identify the right project and the right partners for AFC.
