British smart city innovators pitch to the Philippines’ largest VC fund

Shortlisted from 38 companies, we arranged for four British companies to present their technologies to Filipino VC firm Kickstart Ventures.

The pitch focused on the themes of “The Frictionless Future” and “Smarter Living”, key pillars of Kickstart Ventures’ ACTIVE Fund – the Philippines’ largest venture capital fund backed by regional giants Ayala Corporation and Globe Telecom.

The companies that pitched were:

  • Watergate: AI-enabled water management innovator and developer of the “world’s smartest stopcock”
  • VividQ: Pioneer of an image processing platform to create advanced holographic displays and advertisements
  • Audiostack: Creator of a platform that cuts audio production time through AI-powered tools
  • AppyWay: Developer of an intelligent kerbside platform designed to streamline parking, charge point infrastructure and traffic management.

Thanks to the event, Kickstart Ventures is now continuing discussions with VividQ and Audiostack, exploring the possibility of investing in their companies.

Having been impressed by all the pitchers, Kickstart Ventures also introduced VividQ, Watergate, Audiostack and Appyway to relevant government and private sector partners which they believe would be suited to commercialise their solutions in the Philippines.

Overall, it was a great pitch session, full of opportunities for meaningful collaboration – and we’re excited to see how these relationships grow.
