UK insurtech firms pitch to Japanese corporation in Government-sponsored event - Intralink

On 25 September, six innovative UK insurtech and healthtech startups arrived at The Royal Society, London, to pitch their technology to Dai-Ichi Life – one of Japan's leading insurers. Dai-Ichi Life has a track record of investing in exciting British tech. 

The challenge these startups had to address was reimagining traditional insurance business models. Each pitch showed Dai-Ichi Life a potential means to provide new services and improve existing offerings to support our ageing societies.

We saw a wide range of technologies on display, from causal AI for determining optimal insurance packages from CausaLens to personalised, chronic disease insurance built with behavioural science from Bluezone Insurance. Every technology pitched showed the power of British innovation.

Rest Less was ultimately declared the winner for its pioneering digital community designed to help over 50s get the most from life. Rest Less and Dai-Ichi Life will soon begin in-depth tech and commercial discussions, with the aim of establishing a long-term collaboration.
